1.100 - WFWA Wrestler Contracts:

WfWA Champions shall be under contract to the WfWA upon capturing a WfWA championship Title. All rules of Sect. 4 shall apply.

WfWA Regional Promoters

2.000 - Membership:

Membership in the WfWA is available to any promotion that requests such and meets the criteria established by the Executive Committee. Said promotion must fill out an application and agree to be bound by all rules and regulations described herein and any modifications made hereafter.

2.003 - Sanctioning:

All Promotions are required to post all information and links located on our sanctioning page in full on the front page of their website. New members have one (1) week to do so. Failure to provide this information is grounds for immediate revocation of membership.

2.005 - Suspension/Revocation of Membership:

A member promotion may have its membership suspended and/or revoked for failure to adhere to the rules stated herein and where such is necessary for the betterment of the organization.

2.010 - Qualifications:

Qualified promotions will have a website, email address, ICQ/AIM, and ability to run a promotion to the standards set by the WfWA and its member promotions.

2.020 Release Clause:

The accepted promotion shall be given a trial period of three months [90 days], after which the WfWA may terminate the agreement for any reason whatsoever.

2.040 - Territory:

Promotions shall be assigned a territorial name representative of their home office. Promotions shall also be given a designated territory in which they may schedule shows exclusively. Other regional promotions may schedule matches in exclusive territories only upon approval of the home promotion. Territories that are not exclusive may be run by any regional promotion.

If a regional promotion fails to run a show in a state that they have exclusive rights to at least once every other month, said state shall no longer be considered exclusive to that promotion. Said state may be reassigned exclusivity in the future to the same or other promotion.

2.050 Championships

2.051 - Regional Championships

Each member promotion shall have a minimum of one (1) singles championship, a tag team title is also desirable. There is no maximum amount, however good judgment should be applied. Names of championship titles shall not conflict with the names of any WfWA Championship. Existing promotions with title name conflicts are exempt from this rule, however no new titles may be added that will conflict with WfWA title names. No member promotion may have their own "World Title." Any promotion claiming such will have ten (10) days to downgrade the title or face automatic revocation of membership.

Each promoter has total rights to book and award their championships any way they choose in their own Region.

They can also create "joint" titles with other regions of the WfWA. Such titles are subject solely to the rules and sanctions of the regions creating said titles.

2.052 - WfWA Board Sanctioned Championships:

Board sanctioned championships are decided by the Executive Committee, with the responsibility for booking matches and naming match winners handled by the committee members mentioned above. In the case of a committee member playing to win, winning, or defending a WfWA title, that committee member is responsible for asking a different committee member to accept the decision-making process for said title until the reign of the committee member’s character is over. Upon loss of a WfWA title, the committee member will immediately reassume the decision-making responsibilities.

2.055 - Booking WfWA Champions:

Appearances by WfWA Champions will be scheduled in advance, and designated by the title to be defended, and the member promotion in which the title is to be defended. Each title match will be scheduled to occur within a 10-15 day time period to accommodate the schedules of the individual promotions. Member promotions are free to determine the challengers for these matches in any way they deem appropriate, though input from the divisional heads is advisable.

While not a rule, it is suggested that all member promotions schedule their challengers in such a fashion to allow time for both challenger and champion to adequately prepare and roleplay for the match.

2.060 - Status Reports:

Each member promotion must submit a status report to the Executive Committee every month. This report shall contain current champions, top contenders, who is getting pushes and why, opinions of current WfWA Champions and potential WfWA champions from said promotion.

Currently, there is not a specific format for this report. This report should be sent to an Exec Committee member via PM.

2.080 - WfWA Pay-Per-Views:

Each promotion is asked and encouraged to participate in the WfWA PPVs. Promoters may enter a match or ask to challenge current WfWA Champions.

Promoters may also request to host PPVs. Host selections will be made based on the event, and the possible locations for the event.

2.085 - Non-PPV WfWA Events:

Promoters may request to host non-ppv WfWA events. Such events include WfWA Championship Tournaments and other special memorial tournaments or events, such as the Super J Cup or King of the Deathmatch.

Promoters, as well as players, are also encouraged to share ideas regarding non-PPV events.

2.095 - Matches:

Promoters shall provide reasonable notice of matches to their wrestlers in order for them to adequately participate. Promoters may run their matches, in number, frequency, and type, as they see fit, as long as they do not conflict with the WfWA rules.

2.110 - Contracts:

Full-time contract is defined as a wrestler designates a promotion as his home booking office and the promoter adds said wrestler to his roster. Please note that a wrestler may only be under contract to one (1) WfWA member promotion at any one time.

Per night appearance contracts allow a wrestler to appear for one additional show per month for one non-contracted promotion. Said wrestler does not have to be added to the promoter's roster for a per night appearance.

Promoters may release a wrestler from their roster at any time to make room for a new wrestler or for any other reason. It is their discretion.

WfWA Regional Wrestlers:

3.000 - Wrestler/Role-player:

The WfWA accepts original wrestlers only. No loosely-based knockoffs of real wrestlers are allowed, either.

3.005 - Name:

The name/character of a wrestler shall not be duplicated with current wrestlers in the WfWA or affiliate promotions, or with any real wrestling promotion. As many players are also pursuing a career in wrestling, or participating in a real wrestling promotions, exceptions will be made for these players on a case-by-case basis.

3.008 - Matches:

Wrestlers shall receive reasonable notice of future matches in order for them to adequately participate.

3.010 - Role-plays (language):

All role-players must send in RP's via the message system of the promotion they work for as often as the promotion requires. Failure to comply without proper notification could result in the offending wrestler being removed from the roster of that promotion under the discretion of the promoter. RP's should always be creative but discretion is advised.

Language that cannot be on broadcast television should not appear in a RP unless it is either masked or bleeped. Promoters may have more stringent or lenient rules. There will be no comments involving race, creed, gender or sexual orientation in the roleplays. Failure to follow this rule will lead to immediate disciplinary action.

You should refer to that promotion's rules and adhere to those when posting on regional RP boards. RP's should not contain the characters of any other person's wrestler(s), promoter(s), WfWA Office Staff, or other WfWA related characters without their prior permission or the permission of the Executive Committee.

Penalties will vary depending on the severity of the infraction. WfWA announcers and reporters may be used without prior permission as long as they are used in their proper function and no physical harm occurs to them.

3.020 - Pay per views:

To appear on a WfWA PPV, a wrestler should issue challenges on the WfWA RP board and solicit help from his home office promoter to secure the bout. The wrestler may also contact the Executive Committee directly with any proposals they might have. All wrestlers shall receive two- (2) weeks notice of any upcoming WfWA PPV's by checking their promotion's website or the WfWA website and board system.

3.030 - Championships:

No role-player(handler) may hold more than four (4) regional titles at one time. Regional championships are determined in any manner the regional promoter sees fit. The WfWA Executive Committee determines all WfWA championships. (See sec. 4.050 - WFWA Title Changes for further details)

3.040 - Handling Wrestlers:

No person shall handle more characters than they reasonably can. Again, we ask that every player use discretion.

3.045 - Wrestler Contracts:

Full-time:

Each wrestler shall designate a home booking office, which shall be considered as working for them full-time. By doing so, said wrestler contracts to perform for that regional promotion as deemed necessary by the promoter. Said wrestler may give notice to his home booking office and select a new home booking office provided he fulfills all his scheduled matches.

A promoter has the option to book said wrestler for up to fifteen (15) days from date of notice given. After such time said wrestler may begin wrestling full-time for his new home office.

Each wrestler may have one home promotion, but may actively compete in two WfWA regions.

Scheduled matches are defined as matches published either on a website or via email.

If a wrestler fails to give proper notification of his intent to leave a promotion, said promoter has the right to book said wrestler for up to thirty (30) days before removing him from his roster, which means that said wrestler will probably get jobbed at the discretion of the promoter.

Each wrestler has the option to terminate his contract with a promoter if said promoter fails to provide wrestler with a minimum of two (2) matches per month, except in extenuating circumstances. Said wrestler is under no obligation to appear and said promoter is prohibited from booking said wrestler upon this breech of contract.

Said wrestler shall simply notify the promoter and the WfWA Executive Committee of this breech of contract, and shall become an immediate free agent upon notification.

Per-night:

Wrestlers may appear on a "per night contract" basis as a non-roster wrestler for one show a month for any one promotion. WfWA Champions will automatically be signed to a WfWA contract.

Exceptions to this rule are made for promotions who hold a working agreement with one another. In these cases, wrestlers may appear on a more frequent basis with the partner promotion, but discretion and good judgement should be used regarding these appearances.

Please refer to section 4.000 for rules concerning contracts for such wrestlers as they differ from regional wrestler contracts.

3.050 - Disciplinary actions:

Disciplinary action in the WfWA will be meted out as necessary and needed for the smooth operation of the alliance and its member promotions. Actions taken will be what is deemed appropriate based on the individual situation at hand at any particular time, and this will be the only such standard applied to said actions.

The WfWA reserves to right to discipline, suspend, or expel anyone at any time for any reason.

3.060 - Pushes/Title Shots:

Getting a push and title shots are received either from a promoter, the front office, other opponents, or from your RP's. You want the big matches and the title shots, you have to show that you want them. You have to work for them.

No preference is given to WfWA members in regard to longetivity, service to the Alliance, or personal friendships. The WfWA strives to recognize only the work and effort put in by the players, and to cut out any personal attachments as they relate to pushes and title shots.

WfWA Championship Wrestlers

4.000 - WfWA Champions:

Champions are expected to make themselves accessible to all promoters within the alliance in order to defend their title in all applicable territories and are under no restrictions as to the number of regional promotions they may appear at.

4.005 - WfWA Champions Contract:

WfWA Champions are contracted for such time as they hold the title, starting with the month in which they win a WfWA Championship, to appear at WfWA events and/or WfWA member promotions' events. This contract shall renew itself at the first (1st) of each month for an additional calendar month perpetually as long as said wrestler remains a champion or until said champion provides proper notification to the WfWA Front Office of his intent to leave the WfWA.

Upon loss of WfWA Championship status, wrestler is still bound to the end of that calendar month in which the loss occurred. If the loss occurs within the last seven- (7) days of a calendar month, the WfWA has the option to renew the contract for one (1) additional calendar month. After such time wrestler shall be expected to return to his home promotion.

In the event a current champion intends to leave the WfWA, forfeit a title, or surrender a title, he shall provide the Front Office with a thirty- (30) day notice of his intentions. The WfWA reserves the right to schedule matches for said wrestler for up to 30-days from the date of notification. The WfWA also reserves the right to book matches with said wrestler for up to 30-days from the date the WfWA decides that a wrestler has failed to give proper notification.

The WfWA may assign a new handler for the wrestler that fails to give proper notification.

4.010 - RP's for defenses/WfWA RP board:

Champions are expected to RP on the regional RP board and WfWA World Title board before each match, whether title or non-title. In the case of a title match, failure to do so may result in a title change.

Champions are required to RP on the WfWA World Title Board a minimum of once per month in addition to any RP's for PPV title defenses. All wrestlers must roleplay on the specified PPV board if selected for a PPV event. They need not roleplay there otherwise. Prior notice of a problem must be given to the president or vice president to provide an exception to this rule. Exceptions will be given on a case-by-case basis, and only at the discretion of the Executive Committee.

If a WfWA Champion is defending on a PPV, the champion and challenger need only to RP on the specified PPV Board. All other defenses, please revert back to the beginning of this rule.

4.020 - PPV defenses:

WfWA Champions are expected to defend their title at each WfWA PPV and to role-play heavily for any PPV title defenses on the WFWA PPV Board. The WFWA President may exempt a champion from a title defense on a PPV.

4.030 - Other titles:

All WFWA Champions can hold any regional title they wish, they can however vacate their regional title if they choose to in order to concentrate on their WFWA Championship.

WFWA singles champions will be prohibited from holding any other WFWA singles title. (For example, No World Heavyweight and International Champs at the same time.) However they may also hold the WFWA Tag Team Titles at the same time and visa-versa. If any WFWA Champion defeats another WFWA Champion for the title, they must immediately vacate one of the two titles they hold straight after the bout has occured.

In case this happens, let the front office know which title you want to drop or you will lose both!!!!

4.040 - Home Booking Office Participation:

Champions are expected to stay active in their home booking office they were contracted to under a full-time contract before they captured a WFWA Championship.

When scheduling appearances, the home booking office shall receive first priority.

Champions may change their home booking office provided they give proper notification and fulfill all scheduled matches.

4.050 - WFWA Title Changes:

Winning a WFWA Championship is based on five different factors, unlike regional promotion championships. Regional titles are controlled solely by the regional promoter and they may base title changes on any format they so desire.

WFWA titles are decided much differently. The WFWA executive Committee usually determines title changes based on the following criteria in no particular order:

1) Champion's Recent Performance.

2) Challenger's Recent Performance.

3) Roleplays/Strats of the Champion

4) Roleplays/Strats of the Challenger.

5) Any angles or storylines that might be present.

The general rule of thumb is that the WWA President or Committee will look at the roleplays for qualities such as focus towards the opponent, writing ability and how developed is the character. Please bear in mind that judging roleplays is a subjective process and artform, and the decisions of others may not coincide with the decisions of the person judging the match.

The WFWA will strive to be as fair and as honest as possible and it is possible to win a WFWA title on any given night.

It could take several attempts to capture a WFWA title...just like in the real thing. So, don't bitch, moan or complain if you don't get the title on the first shot. Your time will come, just be ready when it does.

Wrestlers need to campaign for titles. This includes challenging champions on their promotion's RP board and on the WFWA role-play board, getting their promoter to "push" them into championship status, and of course, demonstrating an exceptional ability to role-play.

4.055 - WFWA Rules Changes:

The WFWA Executive Committee may change any rule in this rulebook at any time, with or without the prior permission or consent of any individual or group.

5.000 - Recruitment

Regional fedheads are free and encouraged to offer roster places to wrestlers that are currently not under contract to any current region. However fed heads are advised to not try to entice wrestlers from other WWA regions. Should a regional fed head be found trying to do so, then they will not recieve a WWA title shot for a 3 month period.

5.001 - Departing

Any handler wishing to leave one WWA region for another is expected to finish any angle they are part of and pass on any title belt they hold respectfully. Then and only then, with the consent of the region they are leaving will that character be allowed to join another region.

6.000 - Cruiser Weights

The weight limit for Crusierweights for an WWA event is 225 lbs.
